Thankful

THANKFUL

Hey. It’s been a while. And if you don’t know who this is, I’m Amber. I’m the director of SoulfulMOTION Fitness. Welcome to all our new friends and our seasoned SoulfulSQUAD! If you’re new here, our SoulfulSQUAD is the best! Welcome to the family. Now into the scoop.

We’re transitioning to a new month and season. Out with spooky season for some, and into the coziness of blankets, fire places, fall clothes (and boots), etc. As I partake in all things fall, I have been feeling mighty guilty, as I watch the horrors of the war in Gaza. I’ve been following a young woman on social media who has watched her home, her place of work, and the people she loves all be destroyed and/or killed. Her videos are raw, and she has simply been asking for help as she eats stale bread daily.

Sometimes I cry.

Sometimes I sit in silence and stare at the walls.

Sometimes I ask God why.

Why do I live here, with running water, electricity, a family, a home, etc., while some people live through such atrocities and real life terror.

But the truth is, we live in a fallen world. And one day, our savior IS coming back to save us all from the evil in this world. And until that time comes, I’m learning to practice more gratitude and express my thankfulness to God.

I could have been born to someone in another part of the world.

I could have been without food, or water, or electricity… but I’m sitting here typing this.

I could have been without education.

I could have been without shelter.

BUT GOD.

My human brain will never comprehend God’s plan fully. But in this moment, I can pray for those who are experiencing hardship, and are just trying to survive. And I can express my thankfulness to God for His protection, grace and mercy. 1 Thessalonians 5:16-18 tells us, “Rejoice always, pray without ceasing, in everything give thanks; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you. (NKJV).”

No matter the situation, I must always give thanks to God, as He is who sustains me in hard times. Do you run to God with your cares, your feelings, and hard emotions? If not, you should. God is our comforter, and is present in every situation we face. He has provided us with the Holy Spirit to comfort us and to help us. And regardless of our present circumstances, as a believer, we know this is not our home. So whatever the day may bring, give thanks to the Lord, as he is worthy of our praise!

If you’re reading this now, you are blessed. It means you have a phone or computer, you’ve been educated to read, you’ve got time to read, your eyes work well enough to read, you’ve got electricity or light to see it, and electricity to charge your device that you’re reading from. There are so many blessings that we miss on a daily basis because we are so used to living this way.

IT’S ONLY BY GOD’S GRACE.

I challenge you all to memorize the focus verse for this month. I also challenge you to participate in the actual challenge below. As we look at the world around us, we can see that things are only getting worse. We NEED to have God’s word in our hearts and minds, to remind us of His TRUTH when facing hardships.

Blessings to you all, and may God’s TRUTH and blessings be so apparent to you today and always. Rejoice in Him always, and express your thankfulness to Him.

Happy November yall!
