Hey SoulfulSQUAD!
It’s been a minute, but I’m glad to be back here. If you’re new, my name is Amber, and I’m the director of SoulfulMOTION Fitness. Welcome. If you’re seasoned, thank you for being here. I appreciate your loyalty, grace, and support. Now let’s get into it…
This is Holy Week. And my goal this month is to help you all connect with Jesus on a deeper level if that is not something you’ve experienced, or even know how to do. I want to share some resources with you to help you learn why we celebrate Easter or Resurrection Sunday, and how significant it is to our lives today.
For some time now, I’ve been virtually journeying through the book of Matthew as a “digital disciple” with 2819 Church. This church, specifically Pastor Philip Anthony Mitchell, has been teaching me the scriptures and giving me an understanding of the bible in ways that I never thought possible. Specifically, there are three things that clearly stand out to me when Philip Anthony Mitchell speaks:
#1: He always welcomes everyone. When teaching the word of God, one thing that he says in each and every sermon is that: “You can belong before you believe”.
I love this. We know that at SoulfulMOTION Fitness, we all have a different understanding of the gospel, and we all come from different backgrounds of religious belief, and nonbelief. Here at SoulfulMOTION, I want you to know that you can belong to our commUNITY, as you learn more about our faith and what we believe.
#2: He has been teaching that: God looks after His word to make sure that it is properly performed.
The scriptures (the Bible), are not just a collection of old books, notes, etc. The Bible is God’s word. It is a living word, and is our guide. God will never allow His word to fail. God cannot lie. God will fulfill every aspect of His promises in the Bible. Which leads me to point #3.
#3: Time is running out.
Phillip Anthony Mitchell often shares that our time on Earth is dwindling, and the scriptures tell us that. His church is named “2819 Church”, which references Matthew 28:19, The Great Commission. Here, Jesus tells His disciples, “Therefore, go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit.” As humans, this is our call, our duty, our command from Jesus Himself. Not just the disciples.
So where am I going with this?
First, I want you to know that you are welcome, and we are your commUNITY. You are welcome here at SoulfulMOTION regardless of your beliefs, and I’m here to help you learn more about Jesus if you want to receive that. Next, I believe that God’s word is true. And there are so many times in the bible where God fulfills prophecy, his word, and his promises… but you’d have to read your Bible to know that. Finally, time IS in fact running out. And as a believer, it is my responsibility to educate you, because I want you to join me in heaven. That’s what I’ve been commanded to do.
Although SoulfulMOTION and this newsletter have changed over the years, I am now mature enough in my faith to share the things that I really want to share. And the truth is, I just want you all to understand the gospel. I too am still learning a lot, and I never want anyone to feel that learning about the bible is too hard, or that there aren’t resources to help you.
Jesus came to Earth to teach us about the Kingdom of God, how to live our lives, and also to save us from our sins. Something that we do not deserve, but by grace and mercy, we can receive freedom in Him. Many people will reject Him, and His teachings. But I remind you, that God cannot lie, and God will fulfill his promises.
This month, I’m asking you to do some reading. If you don’t know where to start, we’ve got some prompts for you in the newsletter. I’m asking that if you aren’t familiar with the bible, or Jesus’s life, that you read. When reading, ask God to open your heart and mind to help you understand. It is also my prayer that you will have a greater love for Jesus when worshipping at SoulfulMOTION after reading about Him and understanding his life.
Finally, I want to reiterate that:
God is not a genie.
Prayer is not asking for “wishes” or all the things you want.
The Bible is not all about you. It is to help you.
You should not be the hero of each story, and you should not be the basis of all of your prayers.
God wants you to know Him and his word, and to share about who He is.
The bible is about history, Jesus, His teachings, His resurrection, the great commission, and the kingdom of God.
God wants a relationship with you and me, and I’m trying to do better at spending more time with Him in his word. Will you join me this holy week and dive into your bible or bible app to learn more about Jesus and celebrate the resurrection of our Savior?
SoulfulSQUAD, I am grateful for each and every one of you, as you support our ministry and our commUNITY. Let us welcome others, and as we become more knowledgeable about Jesus, his teachings, and the resurrection, let us be bold to share the gospel to others. I’m thankful that I get to worship Jesus through movement in this SoulfulMOTION commUNITY.
Thanks be to God for our resurrected Savior!!
Happy Easter season and Holy Week to you all!
I hope to see you all very soon!
